This Space Legend Almost Walked Away From A Photo With The Jonas Brothers — Here’s Why

The musicians, recently inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, joined the ranks of Harriet Tubman, The Isley Brothers and Meryl Streep.

The Jonas Brothers weren’t quite in an astronaut’s orbit, and as a result, they nearly didn’t land a photo with him.

The musicians, who were recently inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, joined the ranks of Harriet Tubman, The Isley Brothers and Meryl Streep with the honor. But another inductee, former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, almost moonwalked his way out of a photo with the trio.

“He refused to take a picture with me,” Joe Jonas shared on a July 31 episode of the podcast “Last Meals” from Mythical Kitchen.

Jonas went on to say that someone approached Aldrin and suggested, “You should probably take a picture with him.”

That suggestion proved to be fruitful as the former NASA astronaut posted the photo on X in 2017.

I met the Jonas Brothers at the @dallascowboys game. Apparently they’re hot stuff because my Mission Director @Buzzs_xtina said so,” Aldrin captioned his photo on the platform.

As Aldrin’s caption said, the exchange happened on the sidelines of a Dallas Cowboys football game — and as Jonas recalled, his facial expression was filled with surprise as he heard the original “no” from Aldrin.

“If anyone has earned the right to be a dick, it’s kind of Buzz Aldrin,” host Josh Scherer commented to the trio.

Jonas then joked that Aldrin “allegedly” took a voyage to the moon — a moment Scherer defused by asking if the trio had any Tubman or Albert Einstein stories to share with the audience.

The Jonas Brothers are currently on tour, celebrating two decades together.
