Move over Girl, Boy and all the other “Math” to go viral in recent years.
CNN’s Jake Tapper says there’s a new kind of arithmetic in town: “Trump Math.”
On Tuesday’s edition of “The Lead,” Tapper took aim at what he called “the disconnection of President Trump from facts and reality,” highlighting the president’s repeated issues with basic numbers and his habit of bending data to suit his political needs.
“Call it Trump Math,” Tapper said. “President Trump has been creating his own equations when it comes to jobs numbers, poll numbers — citing fake numbers to justify actions, and ignoring real ones that go against his narrative.”
Tapper pointed to Trump’s controversial firing of Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner Erika McEntarfer as a prime example.
Trump ousted McEntarfer last week after accusing her — without offering any evidence — of manipulating job data following the release of a disappointing employment report.
