“Kill Bill” and “Reservoir Dogs” star Michael Madsen’s death has been revealed.
The actor’s cardiologist told NBC4 Los Angeles Tuesday that Madsen died of heart failure after being found unresponsive in his Malibu, California, home on July 3. He was 67.
The “Donnie Brasco” star’s doctor said that heart disease and alcoholism will be named as contributing factors to Madsen’s death.
Authorities have wrapped up their investigation into Madsen’s death and determined it was the result of natural causes, with no foul play indicated, according to the NBC affiliate.
Madsen’s longtime manager Ron Smith noted Madsen’s apparent cause of death was cardiac arrest last week.
An autopsy won’t be conducted because the cardiologist who was treating Madsen signed the death certificate, NBC4 reported.
The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s requests for comment.
Madsen became an onscreen hit following his breakout role as the unhinged Mr. Blonde in Quentin Tarantino’s 1992 film “Reservoir Dogs.” The actor and director teamed up on multiple films, such as 2003’s “Kill Bill: Vol. 1,” 2004’s “Kill Bill: Vol. 2,” 2015’s “The Hateful Eight” and 2019’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.”
The Chicago-born Madsen also notably starred in 1991’s “Thelma & Louise,” 1997’s “Donnie Brasco” and 2005’s “Sin City.”
