Tucker Carlson tore into white nationalist influencer Nick Fuentes on Friday’s episode of his show, calling the MAGA Gen Zer an “angry gay kid” and a “child.”
Carlson’s comment came during a discussion with far-right commentator Candace Owens, who was reflecting on her interview with Fuentes last month.
Owens claimed the filming process “went great,” but after she posted the episode, Fuentes called her, screaming and insulting her.
“I genuinely don’t know what triggered him,” she told Carlson. “The rage that was coming out of him was just weird and I don’t know why he did that. I don’t know why he did a 180.”
After Owens’ interview with him, Fuentes posted a video, calling it a “FAILED Hit Job.” In the video, he said he generally tries “to avoid women in general, but especially in any professional political context,” claiming they “gaslight” him.
On Carlson’s show, Owens theorized that Fuentes’ rage could be driven by “little boy insecurity” and he went on the attack because “he doesn’t know how to have normal relations after being banned everywhere.”

“Well, I think there’s kind of the angry gay kid thing going on,” Carlson interjected. (Fuentes does not publicly identify as gay.)
Fuentes rose to internet fame and became a central figure within the modern white supremacy movement by unapologetically spreading hate online. His notoriety earned him a seat at President Donald Trump’s dinner table at Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach in 2022 with the artist Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
Carlson insulted Fuentes elsewhere on the episode while defending Joe Kent, a conspiracy theorist confirmed to head the National Counterterrorism Center. Kent and Fuentes have a longstanding feud dating back to 2022. The former Fox News host claimed that Kent is someone “the CIA doesn’t like at all,” and suggested Fuentes could be part of a coordinated campaign against him.
“Nick Fuentes, this child, this weird little gay kid in his basement in Chicago is participating in a super PAC to bump off Joe Kent,” Carlson said. “Like, I’ve been around this my whole life. I know what this is.”
When Owens asked what he meant by “super PAC,” he said, “It’s just an organized effort.”
Fuentes responded to the episode by challenging Carlson to a debate, saying, “If you have the balls to gossip about me and make snarky personal attacks... it’s only right that I should be able to reply.”
