Tyra Banks may know a thing or two about model behavior, but when it comes to eating in bed, Jenna Bush Hager isn’t exactly following her lead.

Banks, who’s this week’s guest host on Bush Hager’s “Today With Jenna and Friends,” sparked a controversial conversation while sharing a touching story about the bond she shares with her mother, Carolyn London. The former supermodel revealed that she and her mom eat “ice cream” and “popcorn” while watching various programs in bed. Bush Hager immediately had reservations.

“Eating in bed — that’s a controversy. I’m not into eating in bed,” she revealed.

A perplexed Banks responded, “No? Why not?”

Bush Hager, firm on her stance, explained, “I don’t like crumbs.”

She went on to reveal that she’s a “messy eater” and that food in bed would cause a disastrous experience — one that would leave her “laying in popcorn.”

This is when Banks took Bush Hager by surprise, admitting that “a couple days later” she often unearths stray kernels — and eats them.

“I clean crumbs by eating them,” Banks told Bush Hager, adding, “You know, because if you put it in the trash, I’m like, you’re gonna get roaches or something. So you just clean it up with your finger or you just eat it.”

“Where is it — on the ground?” a baffled Bush Hager asked.

Banks, however, has “no shoe rule” in her house, “so that I can eat off my floor,” she said while laughing.

Banks later confessed that her son tries the same approach, which she tries to stop. But, she said, he claps back with, “But mom, you do it.”

The pair then debated the longevity of the “five-second rule.” Banks said she personally follows a “few days” rule, as long as the item is not “super perishable.”
